If you are coming from the North, drive down State Highway 2 towards Lower Hutt, turn left at Melling Link and go over the Melling Bridge. Continue driving straight, you will go through two roundabouts and follow the road around to the right until you come to a set of traffic lights. Turn right at the traffic lights into Kings Crescent, then take a left into Bloomfield Terrace. Continue straight through the roundabout and the carpark entry is on the right-hand side.
If you are coming from the South, take State Highway 2 and head towards Lower Hutt. Turn off at the Petone Interchange exit and follow Old Hutt Rd until you go over the Ewen Bridge. Turn left at the Ewen roundabout, go straight through the next roundabout, then straight through the next set of traffic lights - at this point you are on Queens Dr. The pedestrian entry to the Centre is at the next set of traffic lights on the right-hand corner. For carpark entry, continue through the traffic lights, turn right at the next roundabout and carpark entry is on your right hand side.
There is a Bus Interchange conveniently located right outside the Centre. All buses with Queensgate Routes stop at the Interchange. For more information and bus timetables call Metlink on 0800 801 700 or check out the Metlink website.
You can travel by Lime Scooter to the Centre by downloading the Lime app, however please ensure you leave the scooters outside as they are not permitted within the Centre.
There is a taxi stand on Bunny Street outside Kiwibank and Salute Hair & Day Spa.
Because we like to look after our customers we have free customer car parking for up to four hours (P240) in the majority of our Centre car parks. There are also one and a half hour (P90) parking zones for those looking to make a more express visit. Look out for the markings to make sure you park in the right space. If you really want to make a day of it and think you will be shopping for more than four hours then please visit our Customer Services Desk on Level 1. The kind staff there will give you an extended parking coupon which will last for the whole day. You will need to display this on your dashboard. Remember, car parks are for the use of Queensgate customers only, so please don't be offended if you are asked to verify that you have been shopping at the Centre.
Parking infringement notice
If you exceed the time limit in the designated parking zone, you will be issued with an infringement notice and a $50 fee by Parking Enforcement Services. Payment is required within 21 days - please see the back of the notice for details. If you would like to appeal, simply write to Parking Enforcement Services, PO Box 8290 Symonds Street Auckland, and let them know why you are appealing. They can be contacted on 0800 727 536 or by visiting their website. All contact details are listed on the infringement notice.
Parking with prams
If you are shopping with young children we have designated some specially marked Parents with Prams parking spots located at the entrances of the centre.
We encourage cycling to Queensgate and provide 21 bike stands that you can chain your bike to. These are located on the Ground Level underneath the ramp.
For those customers requiring assistance around our centre we have wheelchairs available for hire. Just visit the Customer Services Desk on Level 1 or call them on (04) 922 3509 for more information. There is no charge for hireage but you will require photo ID and terms and conditions apply.
Relax in private in our Parents Rooms, specially designed to make shopping with little ones easier. We have two parent spaces, each equipped with a microwave, bottle warmer, change tables and kids toilets, all in a safe and comfortable environment. Anyone looking after small children is welcome. You will find Parents Rooms on the ground floor next to Shoe Connection and Level 1 in the Foodcourt. Kids play area
Kids love to play and we have the perfect play area for our visitors under 5. If they need some down time from the shops head along to our play area on level 1 by The Warehouse. You must supervise your children as Queensgate Shopping Centre does not provide supervision. To keep our play area safe and clean we ask that kids please remove their shoes and have no food or drink in this area. Queensgate takes no responsibility for any injury from the use of the play area. Any use of this area by children outside of age limit is deemed unauthorised use.
Stroller and Little Royals Carrigage Hire
If you forgot the stroller or someone’s legs are getting too tired, we have some wheels available to hire. You can pick up a stroller from our Customer Services Desk on Level 1. There is no charge, however photo ID is required and terms and conditions apply.
Little Royals Carriages are also available for hire from the Customer Services Desk on Level 1. We have single and double seating models, and trust us, the Little Royals Carriages is the coolest way to get around! An hourly charge applies for Carriages—$5 per single, $8 per double—and photo ID is required.
Have a date with your little one and attend one of our Little Mornings for preschoolers. It’s the perfect place to catch up with other Mums, Dads and caregivers and there will be some fun activities for the littlies. Our Little Mornings run year round and take place on the second Wednesday of the month from 10am to 12noon.
As part of Stride’s ongoing commitment to safety and design standards, we have completed Detailed Seismic Assessments (DSA’s) on the buildings at Queensgate Shopping Centre.
The resulting ratings and reports have indicated work will be required on some elements of three out of the 10 buildings in the Centre in order to improve the seismic rating.
Stride’s policy and commitment has been to carry out any required works without delay, and design and process works commenced in July 2018. Based on the current programme, it is estimated that all works will be completed over the next 12 months.
We are working with our specialist engineers, Hutt City Council, tenants and staff to effectively schedule works to manage the interests of retailers and customers.
